On rare occasions applicants receive a message saying that their EVUS enrollment has been unsuccessful. This sometimes happens because of an administrative error or because a mistake was made on the application.

It is crucial that when completing the EVUS visa form, applicants do not leave any of the sections incomplete, and answer all of the questions honestly and fully. Any inaccurate or missing information on the EVUS form can lead to an application being rejected.

If your EVUS application has been unsuccessful do not reapply immediately. You should wait at least 24 hours before you contact customer support to make sure you have met all the EVUS requirements and provided all the necessary information.

Make sure you meet all the EVUS requirements

If an applicant does not meet all the EVUS requirements set by the United States Government, their application will be denied. Before submitting your application you should make sure you meet all of the EVUS requirements.

To successfully enroll with EVUS U.S., you need to have a passport which is valid for at least six months from the date of arrival, and a valid 10-year B1, B2 or B1/B2 US Visa.

If you do not have a valid passport or a valid visa your EVUS application will be denied. Make sure that your passport and visa have not already expired, or are about to expire before you enroll with EVUS.

If you have a valid visa which is attached to an expired passport you still need to apply for a new passport before registering for EVUS USA. In this case, you need to provide the details of the expired passport attached to the visa and the newer valid passport. It is also necessary to present both when traveling.

If you need to reapply for EVUS because your initial application was rejected you need to wait at least 24 hours before submitting another application.

Whether applying or reapplying, the EVUS application form requires applicants to enter some basic information such as their full name, date of birth, employment details, and emergency contact number.

Eligible travelers can apply for EVUS at any time before setting off for the U.S. However, you should enroll with EVUS at least 72 hours before departure to allow time for complications.

It is essential to read through the application very carefully before completing it. Be as accurate as possible with completing the EVUS form as incorrect or incomplete information can lead to your application being denied. Pay special attention to the eligibility and security sections.

The EVUS application form

The EVUS form is divided into different sections. The applicant must provide details of the trip, a valid address where they will stay during the visit, and contact information (including an up-to-date email address). There are also eight security-related questions at the end of the application.

Children are not an exception and still need to enroll with EVUS. Their parents and teachers are able to complete the application on their behalf. All applicants must pay a fee to submit the application. Once approved, successful applicants receive an EVUS enrollment number.

At the moment only Chinese citizens can enroll with EVUS. However, over the coming months EVUS will expand to include other countries that require a B1/B2 visa to travel to the United States.
