An EVUS application will be denied if the traveler does not comply with the EVUS requirements. Before submitting your application, make sure that you meet all the EVUS requirements established by the United States Government.
EVUS is an automated Electronic Visa Update System that was launched in November 2016. In order to enroll with EVUS the applicant must meet the following EVUS requirements:
A denied EVUS application would occur if you do not have a valid passport or a valid visa. Before enrolling with EVUS, you should make sure that your passport and visa are not going to expire.
If your visa or passport are near their expiration date, it is best that you renew your travel documents. Once you have your new and updated documents you should be able to enroll with EVUS successfully.
If you have a new passport but your valid U.S. visa is attached to an expired passport you can apply for EVUS. You don’t have to apply for a new visa, you simply need to complete your visa details while enrolling with EVUS.
Some applicants might receive a message saying that their EVUS enrollment was unsuccessful. This occurs when there has been an administrative error and/or the traveler hasn’t provided complete details in their application.
If you do receive a message that the EVUS enrollment was unsuccessful, you should not try to enroll again for at least 24 hours. It is best if you contact customer support and revise that you have all the necessary details.
When completing the EVUS form, it is crucial that you answer truthfully and that your basic details are filled in correctly. Bear in mind that the questionnaire at the end must be completed and you can not skip, avoid, or lie when answering the security questions.
The EVUS application form will require your complete name and your date of birth. It will need you to introduce the visa issue date, expiration date and the foil number. You will be asked to introduce an emergency contact and your employment details.
Bear in mind that it is best not to reapply immediately after you’ve received an “unsuccessful application” email.
